Turning Bear has been a professional artist since 1976.

In 1995, he began to do commissioned oil paintings for Dude Ranches, Resorts, National Parks, and a variety of private commissions including portraits, horse portraits, and graphite portraits. Turning Bear is known for his accuracy and his ability to capture the nature of the person, animal or setting. Turning Bear's signature is his detail.
